Breast reduction (mammoplasty)

Breast reduction surgery is a surgical procedure used to reduce the volume and size of the breasts. It’s typically requested by women whose breasts are disproportionately large—a condition known medically as macromastia or gigantomastia.

Large breasts can cause physical discomfort, including back problems, as well as emotional and psychological distress. Breast reduction surgery involves removing excess tissue, fat and skin to bring them down to a size more in proportion with your body.

Breast lift (mastopexy)

A breast lift is a popular procedure designed to elevate and reshape your chest to reduce sagging and drooping and bring back the perkiness of youth. It’s commonly requested by older women and those who have experienced pregnancy and breastfeeding.

The process involves making incisions on the breasts, reshaping the breast tissue, repositioning the nipples and areola and removing any excess skin to create a firmer, more lifted appearance. It can also be combined with the insertion of silicone breast implants to restore lost volume and improve the breast shape. This surgery is performed under a general anaesthetic for comfort and safety.

Male gynaecomastia correction

Gynaecomastia correction is an effective treatment for males with enlarged breast tissue. The condition can lead to men forming female-like breasts. It can leave many feeling self-conscious and unable to wear certain clothes or be comfortable getting undressed.

The procedure involves removing fat and glandular tissue. It can also involve nipple repositioning. The condition can be caused by many things, including genetics, hormone imbalances and weight loss. Causes should be identified and treated first to prevent recurrence.

Breast enlargement (augmentation)

Whether you’d like to have full, voluminous breasts or simply enough to fill a cup, breast enlargement is a popular surgical procedure to get a chest that makes you feel more womanly. It can also be used to improve shape and symmetry for a more aesthetically pleasing look.

Breast augmentation involves making incisions on the breast and inserting silicone implants either above or below the chest muscle. Silicone implants are available in micro, nano and smooth textures. Dr Chang will advise on the best choice for you.

Breast reconstruction

Breast reconstruction aims to restore the appearance of one or both breasts following a mastectomy (surgical removal of one or both breasts) or a lumpectomy (partial removal of breast tissue) due to breast cancer or other medical conditions.

Losing all or part of your breasts can be extremely hard. Replacing them through surgery can help you regain a sense of wholeness, self-esteem and femininity. After the breast is reconstructed, the nipple and areola can be reconstructed with more surgery or tattooing.
