Eyelids (blepharoplasty)

Blepharoplasty is surgery of the upper or lower eyelids. It may be considered where excess eyelid skin, tissue position or eyelid structure affects appearance or, in some cases, vision.

The procedure may involve removal or repositioning of skin, muscle or fat. Risks include bleeding, infection, scarring, dry eye, asymmetry, changes in eyelid position, visual disturbance and the possible need for revision surgery.

Facelift (meloplasty)

Meloplasty, commonly referred to as facelift surgery, is a procedure that addresses facial soft tissue and skin laxity. It may involve repositioning deeper tissues and removing excess skin.

Suitability depends on facial anatomy, skin quality, health history and expectations. Risks include bleeding, infection, scarring, nerve injury, changes in sensation, asymmetry, delayed healing, hairline changes and revision surgery.

Facial Fat grafting

Facial fat grafting involves removing fat from one area of the body, processing it and placing it into selected areas of the face. It may be considered to address volume changes or contour concerns.

The amount of fat retained can vary. Risks include swelling, bruising, asymmetry, irregularity, fat resorption, infection and the possibility of further treatment.

Nose (rhinoplasty)

Rhinoplasty is surgery of the nose and may be considered for functional, reconstructive or cosmetic reasons. It may involve reshaping bone, cartilage or soft tissue.

Where breathing concerns are present, assessment may involve coordination with an ENT surgeon. Risks include bleeding, infection, scarring, breathing changes, asymmetry, altered sensation, dissatisfaction with appearance and revision surgery.

All facial surgery carries risks. Outcomes, healing and recovery vary between patients. A consultation is required to determine whether a procedure may be suitable.

If you require more significant airway improvement, Dr Chang can coordinate a combined airways procedure with an ENT surgeon to provide both an aesthetic and functional result.
